YOUR OWN “Bahala ka na, Lord” PRAYER

June 24, 2019 by Eddie 1 Comment

When you come to the Lord in prayer, asking for His help for yourself, or while interceding for others, you might find encouragement by studying how the good king Jehoshaphat interceded to God during a desperate moment in his kingship over Judah (in 2 Chron 20). Read about this in an earlier related post: BAHALA KA NA LORD.

In this post, I will break down Jehoshaphat’s prayer (which I call the “Bahala ka na, Lord” prayer) and describe a simple pattern which hopefully you will find easy to emulate, and which will encourage you to pray with joy and peace in your heart, knowing that the God of Jehoshaphat is honored as you come to Him for help.

BAHALA KA NA, LORD

June 24, 2019 by Eddie 1 Comment

“Rejoice in the Lord always!” Paul says in Phil 4.    He further encourages them by saying “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

The other night, I was speaking to my brothers and sisters in our District in Ligaya, and I summarized what those who spoke ahead of me were saying.  I said, “Grabe, parang hindi tayo nauubusan ng mga serious problems, ano?”

A THREEFOLD BLESSING

June 15, 2019 by Eddie 2 Comments

It’s a refreshing feeling when a verse in scripture just jumps out and speaks volumes to you especially when you’re feeling down, or dry, or just needing to hear some good news.  That’s what happened when I saw this verse.  I immediately remembered my friends in my prayer community and at my former workplace, specifically those who hold positions of great service responsibility. And I prayed for them this blessing.  Now it has become one of my favorite go-to blessings to share especially with those who are burdened with responsibilities.

OUT OF THIS WORLD

October 21, 2016 by Eddie Leave a Comment

I recall a presentation I would give about how great and awesome God is. My object lesson is the comparison of the size of the sun with the size of the earth, and their relative distance from each other. Then, I’d show them some photos of the constellation Orion, tell them about the size of Betelgeuse, and then the Milky Way, and then other galaxies and the Milky Way in relation to the other galaxies. THE WHEREAS CLAUSE OF OUR COVENANT

August 21, 2016 by Eddie 5 Comments

I’ve had the opportunity in my many years at work to write, review, and sign contracts, MOAs, MOUs, etc., from simple contracts for training, to very complex billion peso mergers and acquisitions.  While my attention is usually focused on the meat of the contracts that begin with the “NOW, THEREFORE” section, I’ve come to realize over time that the “WHEREAS” section (what lawyers call the “recitals”) is actually such a significant part of the contract.  [Read more…] about THE WHEREAS CLAUSE OF OUR COVENANT

“I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Eph 3:18-19)
