DO YOU REALLY KNOW JESUS? Close ba kayo?

April 4, 2025 by Eddie Leave a Comment

In John 7:25-30 Jesus accuses the crowds in Jerusalem that they do not know God.  He says, “You know me, and you know where I am from … but the One who sent me is true, and you do not know Him.”

This is a personal insult to them, because the Jews believe that of all the peoples, they are the ones who know Yahweh, who know the one, true God.  Yet, Jesus says to their face, “naaaah, you don’t really know Him.  But I know Him!”  This is yet another one of the reasons why the people of Jerusalem wanted Him arrested and killed.

Can we take a moment now to reflect on what Jesus was saying to these people in this passage.  “You do not know God.”

What about you, my friend?  Do you know God?  Do you know Jesus?  Close ba kayo? Most people would respond, “Of course! I go to church, I pray, I believe in Him.  I have no doubt that Jesus is God.”

You know, when I was first invited to attend a prayer meeting, I dismissed the invitation because I thought I knew Jesus well enough.  All my life, I had studied in a Catholic school from elementary all the way through 4 years of Theology in college.  So, yes, I knew everything about Jesus; that He is the son of God, that He came to save us from the consequences of our sins.

And yet, wow! Was I happily surprised to discover that there is so much more that Jesus wanted reveal to me.,,,

You see, my friend, faith isn’t just about believing in who Jesus is; it’s about experiencing Him – about hearing the voice of God, feeling His love, actually seeing Him move in your life.

Jesus said:  “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

To the full.  Think about that.  Jesus came, suffered and died, in order that you may have fullness of life.  But fullness of life isn’t just going to Mass and being a good person. It’s waking up with peace that doesn’t break, it’s joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances, but on the knowledge of what God is doing in your life.  It’s a life lived with God’s purpose, and it’s a deep assurance that you are known, loved, and led by God Himself.  REMEMBER:  Jesus gave up His life for you to have fullness of life.

But many of us settle for less — because we don’t realize there’s more.  Instead we settle for more of the world, and less of God.  Right?

So here’s my question: What if God wants to reveal more of Himself to you?  Would you shut Him down, and say, “No, I’m OK.  We’re good.”  Or would you want to know Him in a more intimate and fuller way?

If something in you says “YES” — then here’s a simple next step:

Why not make space for Him?  Set aside just 10 minutes a day to be still, to pray, and to ask, “Lord, I want to know You — not just in my head, but in my heart. Reveal Yourself to me.”

And you know what?  Believe it or not, God responds to those who seek Him.  And I know this not just from my own personal experience, but from the testimonies of many who are surprised to actually discover this truth for the first time.

Now, if you’re not sure, what to do, or if you have questions before making a decision, why don’t you message the person who shared this video with you, and let him or her tell you their story.

“I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Eph 3:18-19)
